As the province’s nursing regulator, our mandate is public protection, and we are the safeguard that ensures the public that all nurses practice with the public interest as their priority. One important way NSCN meets our mandate is by approving nurse education programs. These programs must meet education standards approved by the NSCN Board to ensure that graduates are prepared to practice safely and in a way that is consistent with the Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics and Entry-Level Competencies.
Currently, NSCN is seeking one active-practising LPN in good standing to join the 2024 program review team. Previous experience with program approval will be considered an asset. LPNs who express an interest in joining the program review teams will be oriented to their role, including their review program documents, the process for the program review and contribution to the final report for NSCN. An honorarium is provided, and related travel, accommodation and meal expenses are covered.
The potential dates for the review for the practical nursing program are winter or spring 2024.
Participating in the activities of the College is an important element of being a self-regulated professional. If this opportunity interests you, please submit your expression of interest through a cover letter and a current CV to Jennifer Best at jennifer.best@nscn.ca.
The deadline to apply is Wednesday, January 24, 2024.
