The Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) is pleased to share the NSCN Registrant Demographic and Baseline Survey Report. The survey report shares results and highlights findings from the Building Culturally Responsive Care for Nova Scotians Survey, which took place from August 2 – October 31, 2023. NSCN partnered with Placemaking 4G (P4G) and Melita Consulting to create the anonymous survey, which was distributed to all nurses in Nova Scotia.
The goal of the survey was to help NSCN learn more about the diversity of the profession and establish baseline data of our nursing registrants. The survey was also intended to inform what guidance nurses may need to provide safe and more culturally responsive care to the public. The survey had over 1,700 responses and all data was tabulated and analyzed by P4G and Melita Consulting for the report.
The report will provide demographic, cultural responsiveness, and learning and engagement summaries, as well as insights from nurses through qualitative reflections.
We want to thank everyone who participated in the survey and for being forthcoming in their responses. Your feedback will continue to help drive NSCN’s future equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging work.
