The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is currently recruiting qualified RNs to serve on a Standard Setting Panel of Judges for the NCLEX-RN at meetings taking place July 15-17 in Chicago.

The NCLEX-RN Test Plan is evaluated on a three-year schedule, involving an extensive job analysis survey of newly licensed nurses and input from various nursing experts. The latest NCLEX-RN test plan will become effective April 1, 2026.

The Standard Setting Panel of Judges plays a critical role in providing important information, based on the experience and knowledge understood from working with entry-level nurses, to the NCSBN Board of Directors for setting the final passing standard for the next three years of the NCLEX-RN exam.

The Standard Setting Panel of Judges will be composed of a minimum of nine members, representing the NCSBN geographic areas, Canadian territories/jurisdictions and various clinical practice areas. Members of the panel must meet the following criteria:

1. RN with an active nursing license in good standing

2. Employed as a nurse for at least 2 years

3. Current clinical practice

4. Works with, precepts and/or supervises newly licensed RNs within their first 12 months of practice

If you are interested, please send an email to Trent MacIsaac at trent.macisaac@nscn.ca by February 21, 2025. NSCN will provide your information to NCSBN, and they will notify nominees directly with next steps and provide the volunteer application.
