Capacity refers to the client’s ability to understand information that is relevant to the making of a personal care decision and the ability to appreciate the reasonably foreseeable consequences of a decision or lack of a decision. This module provides nurses with information to assist them with understanding the legislation related to capacity assessment and to understand their accountabilities related to capacity assessment.
