The Nurse Practitioner Standards of Practice promote, direct, regulate, and shape the professional practice of all NPs in all practice settings in Nova Scotia. The standards set out the legal and professional requirements for nursing practice and describe the level of performance expected of NPs in their practice. There are 5 overarching standards with indicators for each. By ensuring high quality NP practice, these standards protect the health and safety of the public.
