You can also choose to take the NCLEX-RN exam at any domestic testing center (Canada and US) or at an international testing center for an additional fee. Click her for other testing locations.
Applicants can start to book the NCLEX-RN exam appointments once we receive information that they have completed a nursing program. First time takers are guaranteed an appointment within 30 days of placing their request.
Applicants are informed by e-mail when they pass the NCLEX-RN exam. It is the applicant’s responsibility to notify the employer because employers are not notified if the applicant passes the exam.
There is no limit to the number of times an applicant can write this exam. However, an applicant who has previously passed the NCLEX-RN Exam or another registration exam accepted by NSCN is not permitted to re-write the NCLEX-RN Exam through us.
The student must allow for at least 45 days between each exam writing but an appointment can be booked at any time.
Results are released to candidates within two weeks of taking the exam, although it is often earlier.
Passing the NCLEX is only one of several registration and licensure requirements an applicant must meet before they can become registered and licenced. While not an exhaustive list, these requirements include:
- Maintaining currency of practice, meaning they must have:
- graduated from a nursing program within the previous five years or
- worked a specified number of practice hours or
- completed additional assessments or education as required by us
- Demonstrating that the individual has the capacity, competence, capability and character to safely and ethically practice nursing; and
- Completing our Continuing Competence Program
